The INDEPENDENCE
was designed as a battle ship with one
purpose, defend the Federation against
hostile threats like the Borg, Dominion
and other, strong up and coming adversaries.

space exploration. The Science staff,
though short handed is second to none.

Starbase
Arcadia
is the largest man-made structure in the Alpha
Quadrant. It is not only the Federation's most
ambitious undertaking, but could be
Cardassia's last hope for rebuilding her
world.
With Dry Dock, Recreational, Scientific, and
Diplomatic facilities, the mammoth structure
stands over 7,000 m high with a total of 1,600
decks. Arcadia will not only serve as a
Federation Starbase and shipyard, it will also
solidify a Federation presence in Cardassian
space.
The Station not only sports its own Promenade
with all that entails, but has ample luxurious
living quarters for various visiting Ambassadors
and Dignitaries. However, as always
with a structure this size, a seedy underbelly
is an ever present threat to be dealt with.
For this and other reasons, a Federation
Covert Missions Task Force was formed.
