How
do you play:
The game is
played via E-mail, each person receives posts from their commanding
officer. From this point they simply attempt to add to the story line
from their character's point of view.
How do
you apply:
You can
simply follow this link to the application page and fill out the
questions that follow
http://soultrek.net/application.htm
Who's in
charge: We
have found that a good command structure is essential for any type of
organization. With that in mind, you will notice that each department on
board any Starship or Space Station has a department head. Each crew
member who serves under their department head must report directly to
him / her. Over all, when all is said and done, the Captain has the
final word, so we can safely say that the Captain is in charge
How do
you get promoted:
To move up
through the ranks of SOULTREK is quite simple. It takes two steps #1
Consistency, meaning that if your character posts on a regular basis and
stays with in the structure of the current story line you will find that
your half way there.. #2 Recommendations: As said earlier your Captain
has to pass along the recommendation before the council, from that point
they will review your posts and nine out of ten times promote you to the
rank and position worthy of your abilities.
Can I
have my own ship:
Yes!! but
first you must complete the passing of the ranks (Refer to How do you
get promoted)
What does
the Captain and First Officer do:
The Captain
is responsible for directing the ship or station through the current
story line. He/ She is also responsible for reading and editing the
vessel's posts to avoid all conflicts. The First officer's or "XO's"
duties are to support his / her commanding officer any way they can.
How do
you resolve a conflict in posts:
That duty
falls to the Commanding officer and or First officer.
Who
chooses the mission:
A mission or
story line can be made up by anyone. But remember your Captain must
approve before it can begin.
How long
should we make our posts:
There is no
limit to the size of one's posts. In most cases posts are usually two to
five pages long.
How often
should a player post:
Most players
should post at least once a week. But once more, there is no limit.
What
recourse do we have if we think we should be promoted and are not:
If you feel
that you should be promoted, write a note to your Captain, if you are
still not satisfied you can always write the Admiral. His address is
posted at the bottom of every page on the web site.
Who the
hell is Admiral Kelly anyway:
Admiral
Kelly is the current director of SOULTREK. And he plans to be in that
position for some time to come.
Can we
have more than one character:
Yes!! you
can, to a limit of two. But you must treat each character as if it were
your only one.
I want to
quit and I wish to have my character and his or her work removed from
the pages:
Although
it's very rare that this question would be asked, we do have to cover
all of the bases. All
Active and NPC Characters created for SOULTREK, All written and graphic
material submitted to SOULTREK remain the property of SOULTREK
regardless of how or why said character wishes to leave the game.
How
long has SOULTREK been around:
SOULTREK
has been in operation sine October of 1996. Since then we've become the
number one PBEM RPG (As voted by many of the top sites.) And we plan to
remain at the top for a long time to come
