SECTION 3: PERSONAL HISTORY
Every
host has to go through a getting aquatinted time known as
shian'tara. I did this shortly after joining because I had all of
these urges coming out and I wanted to know whom they were coming
from. So I performed the ceremony, and these are the notes that I
took from what I remember. Each host will make herself or himself
present to me for two hours and we have that time to get to know
each other. So here goes with the first one.
It
was 300 years ago that I was joined with the Ruble symbiot. My
name was Hansen, but when joined I took on the symbiot name. My
friends call me Lara, but my birth name is Enlaradubleine. It
wasn't difficult to stay at home after being joined, but I
thought it best if I moved on with my life and start the whole
process of the symbiot relationship. It wasn't hard to accept the
thoughts from Ruble.
Being
very young, Ruble just wanted to learn. I thought the best place
to learn is school. So I spent years in school taking classes on
everything that Ruble wanted to learn about. Every now and then I
got to have my way with the studies. It was fun to learn new
things. I took classes on Physics and space travel and theory and
some medical first aid basics. I can't remember now all the
classes I took then. It was a long time ago. [Pull up all records
on classes and degrees taken.] I was in school most of the time I
was alive. I had a terrible accident in the lab. Ruble survived
but I was badly burned. I'm glad I didn't live through it.
Medical
technology on Trill wasn't that advanced then to give me back my
normal life so I didn't fight the pain. My life would have been
painful and I would have had to drop my schooling and I knew
Ruble wanted to continue. The next host would help him continue.
The
second was named Yzron Beq. At a very early age I had dreams of
going to the stars. I entered the Trill education program as soon
as I could, being top in my class. I wanted to learn more than my
mother was teaching so she began to give him some extra work on
Trill History. Immediately when I was old enough I entered the
initiate program. I was quite sociable, making friends wherever I
went. My teachers told me I'm quick thinking, intelligent and
often laid-back when everyone else is tense. They also said I am
a capable engineer as well as an imaginative tactician. So you
can imagine the position I took. I liked to work on things and
fix old junk that everyone said would never run again. I ended up
on deserted planet looking for an old cruiser.
I had
gotten word that if I could get it to run I would be the most
famous engineer in the history books. Well that was too tempting
to blow off. I didn't do my homework on the planet's plant life
or anything. While I was there I got bitten by a Vollain Spider.
Some how I managed to make it back to my runabout and send a
message of help. I died from the venom.
The
fourth was named Gwynyth, (pronounced "ginith") who had
been a civilian living on Bajor for most of her life. I was a
civilian Botanist, never married and died of old age. But in my
lifetime I learned about all the types of plant life on Bajor and
Trill home world. I also learned how to improve our life and live
longer with the help from plants and their roots. We don't have
enough time now for me to go into detail but you can always
recall the memories if you need help. You will have to get the
actual plant not replicate it. It doesn't work like that. [Next
leave of absence collect the important plants] It's not so bad
living to be old and gray.
The
fifth was Delus Rhys who was a System's Maintenance Engineer. I
worked for Trill Imperial Forces. I met a woman whose name was
Selina. She had the most golden hair I'd ever seen. We didn't
have a long courtship. I knew she was the one I wanted. It wasn't
long after that, that she had a son for me. His name was Rafie.
Then came Emony and Lelas and Torias and Jobel. I had a quiet
life on Trill with my family. I died of old age.
The
sixth was named Lena. She was a singer and a dancer for a very
reputable club on Trill. She was also a gymnast, who found that
joining improved her concentration, and stood on her head for
relaxation. She was judging a gymnastics competition on Earth
when she met Leonard McLoy. He was a very strange man, Vulcan if
my memory serves me right. I had a tragic love life and Norelvo
was unfortunate to loose a father. I raised him as best as I
could. I tried to encourage him to apply to be joined but he had
other plans. I was on my way to Bajor to judge another
competition when my shuttlecraft crashed. Luckily I wasn't on a
deserted planet. [That explains my discomfort in shuttlecrafts]
The
seventh was named Trelliaue, he was a Fighter Pilot for Trill
Imperial host. Later he became Ambassador and Negotiator. To be a
fighter pilot, I had to be well- trained in martial arts and hand
to hand combat. If my craft ever became disabled I had to defend
myself in the event of war and get back home. I wasn't allowed
the luxury of a home life. I learned how to survive on a planet
if stranded for more than my rations allowed. My training was
hard and long I had to overcome the fear of the previous host.
I'm still a little uneasy but my training kicks in and I overcome
my fear by facing it. I had a job to do and it got done. I died
in battle. We were sent to the outer part of the quadrant to stop
a rebellion that had formed. Most of their resources were
depleted and we were on the verge of taking them over. I took a
phaser blast in the chest. It's a good thing he was a terrible
shot or Ruble would have died with me. When they found out I was
joined, they banned every joined Trill from serving as
Negotiator.
The
eighth is named Jolena. I grew up on the Trill Home world and I'm
the daughter of a well-known Exoarcheologist. I grew up studying
sites with my Father as my Mother was always away visiting the
stars. I had an uneventful childhood and flew through the
Initiate Program in only a few short years the second time
around.
The
first time was the hardest of my life. I then accepted a
placement in the Vulcan Science Academy. I earned degrees in
Astrophysics and Life Sciences from the Academy. I have
distinguished myself as a proficient Scientist in both
Mathematical and Cultural Sciences. I have not yet decided what
Science I will major in, but many Professors have tried to
recruit me already. I decided that since I had so many choices I
wouldn't pick any of them.
I
went back to Trill and applied there for Medical. It went against
everything I had been taught as a child and one of my hosts was
in that field already. I wanted to learn something new to make a
difference. My classmates thought of me as a very out going young
woman.
I was
often considered a flirt by some. However, I consider myself much
more tame since my joining. I am a romantic at heart and always
side with passion. I think of myself as always open and honest,
yet follow my own moral code. I believe in the truth and loyalty.
As a joined Trill, I have two brains working together. There
aren't many interspecies relationships as a result of this fact.
Most have found that mental domination or charming a Trill is
very difficult, but not impossible. My favorite pass time is
Hoobishan Baths. They are a famous spa on Trill. I also have
found that Trills are allergic to insect bites, because of the
biochemical connections of the symbiot and host. We can't
tolerate the toxins.
SECTION 4: CHARACTER'S
ATTRIBUTES
1) Talents: I was born with a
rare ability to place my feeling on others around me at the time.
My mother's side is whom I inherited it from. Since she was gone
most of my life, I haven't been able to control it yet. I can
also hear conscience made thoughts. I'm a joined Trill with seven
lifetimes and that gives me an edge in some cases and I am very
outgoing.
2) Traditions: I follow those on
Trill but there aren't many there. I also take my shore on the
same planet for relaxation. Risa is always sunny and is an ideal
place to have fun. I only wish I could get there more often.
3) Marital
Status: Dating
4) Likes: I enjoy a good
challenge and I'm up to learning new things and meeting new
people. I'm very easy going and I enjoy Hoobishan Baths that are
found on Trill.
5) Dislikes: Those who are
disrespectful and ignore command. I despise those that think they
can cheat and lie there way through life or command.
6) Strong
Beliefs: It is a privilege to be joined as well as
to be able to contribute to the collective memory of the symbiot.
With my symbiot my life wouldn't be as enriched as it is now. My
beliefs lie in that life is precious and needs to be protected.
7) Limitations: We all are only
limited by what our minds will not allow us to achieve.
8) Strengths: My lessons in
life from past hosts have been very valuable and they help
through tough situations.
9) Ambitions: I would like to
add new experiences to the memories of my symbiot and Soulfleet
is the beginning. My career is very important to me so advancing
through the ranks is rated high priority.
10) Special
Abilities: My medical training has taught me to be
compassionate. I'm also very passionate about the people in my
life. I can hear conscience thought and that benefits me when I
allow it to.
11) Quirks: I always take
shore leave on Risa when I get to choose my time off. I have
little habits that I choose not to break such as the side of the
bed I slept on and the order in which I get ready in the morning.
